Outdoors

We all like doing gardening. We grow flowers and we grow vegetables. We play in the garden too."
We have an extraordinary quiet corner in our garden. We like to play and read there. We are going to grow plants and flowers around it."
On our playground we play with lots of toys from our playground box. Sometimes we play tennis. We have hopscotch and a maze. We have a wooden climbing frame and a play tower with a slide, a willow hut and tunnel. We also like to play on the field or in the garden. We all bring our wellies to school so we can always play on the grass. Our playground buddies help if anyone is hurt or upset. They tidy the box of toys for us."
We love playing in the garden. We plant fruit and flowers at Activities Club. We go to the garden to play at making dens, doing shows and running and jumping on the hills and the big rock."
We are harvesting the vegetables. It was a dry summer and we didn’t get too much this year. There was only one basketful. We grow vegetables and flowers and there are wild flowers in the garden too. We dug up onions and carrots but the potatoes are grown separately in the potato barrel."

Part of Our Community

The school enjoys close links with our local community, including organisations such as local churches, the Rotary Club and local charities. Within our grounds, and managed by the school, is Scremerston Community Building.

This provides a home for Lucky Ducks independent Pre-School for children aged 2½ - 4 years. There is also a Community Room which is used by our Parents and Toddlers group, by adult and family learning courses and for meetings of groups such as the Parish Council.
